Made this plate for a friend of mine, who loves old oriental paintings with traditional medium.
I decided to use oil over the plate because it's not really comman in traditional processes in the far east.
It would have been fun to use oil based paint as well, but it would have destroyed the flow, but I still want to try it.
I use a lacquer and finish over a brushed silver plate, which is what the color attaches to when I apply the medium.
So yeah, this used to be a 35mm slide frame, but ended up this, went from provia 400f film to black albumen to silver plate to oiled finish.
It inspires me to go and make some lunch... but perhaps that's just because I'm hungry, and not particularly concerned about the orient at this point in time.
